The Senate is establishing an enquiry into the future of the aged care workforce in Australia.
It comes about following their community affairs committee handed down a report into widespread abuse of disabled people; the report also captured aged care abuse.
The focus will be on the fact that 350,000 people work in aged care but half of those will retire in the next 15 years.
At the same time the National Disability Insurance Scheme rollout will require an equal number of carers.
